Food Engineer (Federal University of Viçosa, 1995), D.Sc. in Food Technology (Campinas State University, 2001). Researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA), at Embrapa Instrumentation. She was a visiting scientist in WRRC/ARS/USDA (2008), and participated as a researcher in the Labex program (Embrapa) at the Quadram Institute (formerly Institute of Food Research), in Norwich, UK. Ad-hoc reviewer of a variety of journals, including Food Hydrocolloids and Carbohydrate Polymers. Her experience is focused on food packaging, especially on the following subjects: edible and biodegradable packaging films, nanotechnology applied to food packaging, use of food byproducts for biodegradable materials, uses of bacterial cellulose for food and packaging materials.
