Mini-curriculum

Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Goiás (1986-1991), master's degree in agronomy from the University of Brasilia (1996-1998) and doctorate degrees at UNESP - Botucatu and University of Florida in Homestead - Florida, USA (2009-2012) where developed work on physical fractionation of organic matter. He worked for nine years in Emater - GO (1993-2002) at Emgopa he served as a researcher in plant science area. Since May 2002 is a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa Rondônia 2002-2004 and Embrapa Rice and Beans 2004- present). He has experience in technology transfer and in the areas of Plant Science, Soil Fertility and Fertilizer, acting on the following topics: development of rice production system and beans, management of cover crops, no-tillage system, fertilization and nutrition of rice and beans, nutrient dynamics and organic matter in agricultural systems and recovery of degraded pastures. He has authored numerous scientific articles in national and international journals as: Soil Science Society of America Journal, Crop Pasture Research, Experimental Agriculture, Soil Tillage Research, European Journal of Agronomy, Agronomy Journal, Crop Science, Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, Pesquisa Agropecuaria Tropical, Revista Ceres , Semina ciencias agrarias, Pesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira, Planta daninha e Revista Brasileira de Ciencia do Solo. Coordinated and participated in several research projects on the mentioned issues. It is ad-hoc consultant of Crop Science, Journal of Tropical Agriculture, Revista Ceres, Revista Caatinga, Agronomy Journal, Australian Journal of Crop Science, European Journal of Agronomy, African Journal of Agricultural Research, Soil Tillage Research, Acta Amazonica, Archives of Agronomy and Soil Science and Journal of Environmental Quality. It is associated editor of the Pesquisa Agropecuaria Tropical. He currently serves on the internal technical advice (CTI) of Embrapa Rice and Beans with a mandate until 03/2017. He was part of the committee for preparation of the strategic plan of Embrapa Rice and Beans (2014), was vice-coordinator of the research group and technology transfer of sustainable agricultural systems (2013/2014). Currently he is coordinator of the research group Irrigated Tropical Rice (GPT AIT). Participated in international missions to Benin, Sierra Leone, Suriname and Mozambique to develop activities related to upland rice.
