Mini-curriculum

I am currently a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa at the Humid Tropic Agroforestry Research Center - CPATU (January/2016) and general coordinator of the Integrated Amazon Project (PIAmz), an Embrapa-FEA-BNDES partnership (July/2018) with the participation of nine Embrapa units located in the Legal Amazon. I carry out research on Natural Resources Management and Area Recovery, with an emphasis on technological training and participatory processes to promote forest restoration in altered areas in the biome. I collaborated with Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) and Technology Transfer (TT) actions at the Rondonia Agroforestry Research Center - CPAFRO (May/2002-December/2015), with research on management and conservation of forest genetic resources in the Amazon, using tools to study vegetation, ecology, botany, and multiple-use species economics. In Rondonia, I also worked as a collaborating professor (September/2012 to December/2016) and vice coordinator (May/2013 to October/2015) of the Post-Graduate Program "Stricto Sensu" in Regional Development and Environment of the Federal University of Foundation Rondonia. I participated as a collaborating professor of the Postgraduate Program in Biodiversity and Biotechnology in the Legal Amazon - PPG-Bionorte/RO (2014-2015). In June/2018, I started a new collaboration with PPG-Bionorte/PA, as an associate researcher, and in September/2021, I became a permanent professor of the Program working in the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity line. I have a bachelor's degree in Forestry Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Amazônia (1996), a master's degree in Environmental Management from the Federal University of Lavras (2000) and a Ph.D. in Forestry Science from the Federal University of Viçosa (2004).
