Mini-curriculum

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the State University of Maranhão (1995), Master in Animal Science from the Federal University of Lavras (2000), PhD in Animal Science from the Federal University of Viçosa (2003) and Post-Doctorate from the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas ICARDA in Aleppo, Republic of Syria (2008) and by Texas AM University, College Station-Texas-USA (2012). Since 2002, he has been a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Embrapa Caprinos e Ovinos, in the area of #8203;#8203;nutrition for small ruminants, where he was also Head of Research and Development from 2009 to 2011 and Chief-General (2015-2021), accumulating experience in management of science and technology institutions. He was a research productivity grantee from FUNCAP and CNPQ, advisor to the National Council for the Control of Animal Experiments-CONCEA and to the Management Committee for Embrapa's Programming-CGP. He is currently a technical advisor to the Federal Sectorial Chamber of Goats and Sheep of MAPA (2021-). He is a professor at the Postgraduate Program in Animal Science at the Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú-UVA. He has focused their studies on goat and sheep nutrition, with more recent work on the application of near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) in animal nutrition, with emphasis on the development of the Small Ruminants Nutritional Advisory Service - AssessoNutri and for DataNIRS, NIR spectroscopy database currently licensed by Embrapa to the company Spectral Solution. He also has experience in articulating and conducting complex, networked projects, focusing on technological, social and organizational innovation in innovation ecosystems in the Brazilian Northeast.
