Maristela Ramalho Xaud is a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA), focusing on the area of remote sensing and environmental monitoring in the Amazon region, especially in the state of Roraima. Bachelor's at Agronomy from Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (1993) and master's (1998) and doctorate (2013) in remote sensing by the National Institute for Space Research (INPE). She has experience in Agronomy and Environment, with emphasis in Remote Sensing and GIS, acting on the following topics: Roraima, Amazon, remote sensing, GIS, environmental monitoring, forest fires, environmental management and land use land change.
