Mini-curriculum

Agronomist from the Federal University of Paraíba (1997), Master (2001) and Doctor (2005) in Entomology from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). Currently is studying MBA in Project Management (PECEGE-ESALQ, USP). Since October 2013, he has been Head of Research and Development (R&D) at Embrapa Eastern Amazon (Belém, PA), in addition to being a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Amazon Agriculture (PPGAA) at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), since 2010, which has a multidisciplinary approach. He has been a member of the Management Committee of the Amazon Portfolio (Embrapa) since 2018. He was substitute Chief General of Embrapa Eastern Amazon between 2015-2019. He has his researches dedicated as areas of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) of the main Amazonian crops (especially Fruit Trees and Palms), Biological Pest Control, Botanical Pesticides and Agroecology. In recent years, his research activities have been more intense in a multidisciplinary perspective, especially with (1) Fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) of importance for the Amazon; (2) Pests and natural enemies of Palmaceae and (3) Diversity of Natural Enemies in Ecologically Based Systems in the Brazilian Amazon. He was a CNPq Research Productivity Scholar (PQ-2) between the years 2013-2019 and is the leader of the Research Group "Insect-pests and Beneficiaries of plants grown in the Eastern Amazon". He was Regional Secretary of the Entomological Society of Brazil (SEB) for the State of Pará between 2009-2010. Ad Hoc Consultant for CNPq and for different National and International journals, in addition to the publications of the Embrapa Series. He has experience in leading multidisciplinary people and teams and managing PD & I projects.
