Mini-curriculum

Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Paraíba (1989), with a Master's degree in Agronomy (Soil Science) from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (1998), PhD in Agronomy (Soils and Plant Nutrition) from the Federal University of Viçosa (2002) and Post-Doctorate in Modeling the Dynamics of Soil Organic Matter from the USDA/Agricultural Research Service (USA, 2007). He is Researcher at Embrapa. He has experience in the area of Agronomy, with an emphasis on Soil Management and Conservation, working mainly on the following topics: soil health, dynamics and modeling of soil organic matter and dynamics and land use changes. Ad hoc CNPq/FAPESP/FAPEPI. He is the winner of the Jabuti Literature Prize 2015 with the book "Agricultura Conservacionista no Brasil" and author of the book "Sustainable Soils for Agriculture in the Northeast. He is a Permanent Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Soil Science at the Federal University of Paraíba. He worked the position of General Director of Embrapa Meio-Norte from 2013 to 2021 and Coordinator and General Coordinator of Soil and Water Conservation at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) from 2021 to 2022. Since 2023, he has been Director of Scientific Division 3 "Soil Use and Management" of the Brazilian Society of Soil Science
