Mini-curriculum


PhD in business administration, with a concentration in marketing, from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-EAESP). He was a visiting researcher at the Cornell University School of Agriculture, where he conducted research on food consumption behavior. Journalist and master in administration from UFRN, with a postgraduate degree in business management from the Queensland University of Technology (2001- Australia). He has been an Analyst at Embrapa since December/2005 and has 12 years of experience in the private sector, where he worked in the areas of communication and business management. At Embrapa, he was a member of the Technical Committee of Macro-Program 4 (TT and Communication), worked in the business incubation program (Proeta), communication coordinator of PAC Embrapa, marketing communication coordinator and led three projects in the European Union - Brazil Dialogues on food waste and circular urban food systems. He collaborated with the REFRESH Community of Experts, a European Union initiative linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12) and served on the Technical Committee on food losses and waste coordinated by the Ministry of Social Development. He is co-founder of the Pact against Hunger and collaborates with initiatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), UN Environment (UNEP), G-20 Working Group on food losses and waste, led by Thunen Institute (Germany), One Planet Network (UN) and WWF in the areas of food security and circular economy. He has scientific publications on the subject of consumer behavior, with an emphasis on food consumption and waste, and participation in several international seminars. He is a reviewer for international journals, including the European Journal of Marketing and Appetite, and for research projects in food marketing and consumer behavior. He is interested in the research areas of consumer behavior and food marketing, retail, reputation and corporate communication.
