Graduation at Agronomia from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1994), master's at Agronomy from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1997) and doctorate at Agronomy from Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (2001)., where he completed his postgraduate -PhD in Plant Production. He is currently a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Embrapa Solos. Has experience in Agronomy, with emphasis on Soil Fertility and Fertilization and Fertilizer Technologies, working mainly on the following topics: Soil Fertility Management, Agronomic Efficiency of Nutrients in Agriculture, Technologies for the Development of New Fertilizers. He served as Deputy Head of Research and Innovation at Embrapa Solos, August 2015 to December 2017, and as General Head between January 2018 and October 2019. He was Executive Secretary of the National Council for Fertilizers and Plant Nutrition - Conference and General Coordinator of Studies in Economic and Social Development of the Special Secretariat for Strategic Affairs (SAE-PR) of the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil. He is currently an advisor for strategic programs at the Executive Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock - MAPA.
