He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1998), a master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2000) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2004). He worked as a professor at PUC MINAS and UFPA and has been a researcher for 18 years at Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, where he works in the areas of agro-industrial processes focused on vegetable oils and honey from native Amazonian bees. In these chains he participated in the Embrapa team responsible for defining the criteria for the International Standard (CODEX AILMENTARIUS) and ANVISA for High Oleic Palm Oil. Furthermore, he contributed to the ADEPARÁ working group that established the Identity and Quality Standard for honey from native bees in the state of Pará (ADEPARÁ ordinance 7554/2021). It is currently incorporating 3D printing and Artificial Intelligence tools into its research lines, especially in the context of Agriculture 4.0.
