Mini-curriculum

Renato Leitão holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará (1988), a master's degree in Hydraulics and Sanitation from the School of Engineering of São Carlos (1991) and a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the Wageningen University and Research Center (2004). He has extensive experience in managing engineering projects in the area of Environmental Sanitation, working mainly on the following topics: water supply and wastewater systems, and treatment of domestic and industrial waste. He is currently a senior researcher at Embrapa Tropical Agroindustry, where he was supervisor of the agro-industrial processes group. At Embrapa, he has coordinated several research projects in the area of biomass utilization, bio-based products and processes, valourization of agro-industry residues, generation of renewable energy and other products with high added value.
