Graduated in Agronomy (1988) and MS in Genetics and Plant Breeding (1992), from Universidade Federal de Viçosa. PhD in Agricultural Biotechnology (2001) from Tokyo University of Agriculture, Tokyo, Japan. MBA in Business Management (2003) from FGV - Fundação Getúlio Vargas. In his professional performance, he was a researcher and manager in the Biotechnology Department of CAMPO (1991-2002), having participated in the design and assembly of Plant Bio-factories in Paracatu, MG (1991), Cruz das Almas, BA (1998) and Manaus, AM (2001). Pioneer in the development of banana and pineapple micropropagation protocols, on an industrial scale in Brazil. Creator of the ?Nodai Method? micropropagation method, resulting from his PhD thesis. From 1992 to 2005, he structured CM Sementes, Biotecnologia e Comércio Ltda (joint venture between CAMPO and Mitsubishi Co.), having held the position of chief breeder and technical manager until 2005. He was manager of the international partnership contract CAMPO / GRANAR / BR Genética (2006 to November / 2008). From 2002 to 2008 he held the position of General Director of Campo Biotecnologia Vegetal Ltda. Period in which the company became a leader in the segment of plant micropropagation in South America. In the private sector, it worked in research, development, production and technical assistance in soy and tropical fruit projects in the Southeast, Midwest, North and Northeast of Brazil. Participated in the structuring of the State Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the State University of Goiás (Law 668/97). Worked in the Higher Magisterium in the areas of Plant Genetic Improvement and Plant Biotechnology (2004-2010). On December 8, 2008, he was admitted to Embrapa as Researcher A, where he has been working on Soy Genetic Improvement, Sustainable Production Systems, Technology Transfer and Innovation. Research Coordinator in Embrapa Soy Genetic Improvement for the Cerrados biome (2010-present). Manager of public-private-partnership contracts between Embrapa and Fundação Cerrados and between Embrapa and Fundação Bahia (2010 to 2014). Participated in the development of 138 soybean cultivars registered in the National Cultivar Register, of which 46 Certificates of Registration as a leading breeder. He participated in the protection of 86 soybean cultivars in the National Cultivar Protection Service, with 37 Protection Certificates as the leading breeder. In 2014, it launched the soybean cultivar BRS 7380RR, bringing the broadest degree of genetic resistance to nematodes on the market, constituting an effective nematode management tool, enabling production in contaminated areas. In 2017, the BRS 7380RR was Embrapa's soybean cultivar with the largest planted area. He held the following managerial and administrative positions: Head of Research Division at Campo Biotecnologia Vegetal Ltda. (1992-1995), Head of the Biotechnology Department of CAMPO (1996-2001), Technical Director of CM Sementes Biotecnologia e Comércio Ltda. (2000-2007), General Director of CAMPO Biotecnologia Vegetal Ltda. (2002-2008). Deputy Head of Technology Transfer of Embrapa Cerrados (2015 to 2019) and Head of the Secretariat of Innovation and Business - SIN of Embrapa (Feb. to Oct./2019). Member of the Evaluation Committee of Embrapa's Outstanding RD&I Agendas (2018 and 2019). Member of the Board of Directors of Fundação Casa do Cerrado. He received recognition honors for his participation in works of technical, economic and social relevance: [1] Honor to Merit, Ipameri-GO City Hall, 2007 (for the Structuring of UEG - State University of Goiás (Campus Ipameri); [2] Honor to Merit - Federation of Agriculture of the State of Roraima and Embrapa Roraima, 2016 (for the relevant services provided to agriculture in the State of Roraima; [3] Recognition - Fundação Cerrados, 2017 (for the relevant services provided for the improvement of soy in the Cerrado).
