Mini-curriculum

Agronomist from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, with a master's degree in Phytotechnology from the same university. PhD in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology) from the University of Brasilia, with a sandwich doctorate at the University of California, San Diego. Between 2003 and 2010 she was a senior researcher at Alellyx Applied Genomics, where she worked in the biotechnology programs of eucalyptus and sugar cane. Between 2010 and 2013 she was a researcher at Embrapa Florestas, working on functional genomics of forest species. She is currently a researcher at Embrapa Agricultura Digital and co-PI at the Research Center for Genomics Applied to Climate Change (GCCRC), an initiative established by Embrapa, the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) and the Foundation for Research Support of the State of São Paulo (Fapesp), which aims to generate genetically modified plants better adapted to abiotic stresses associated with climate change. She is a founding member of the Joint Unit of Research in Genomics Applied to Climate Change (UMiP GenClima), a technical-scientific and operational cooperation agreement signed by Embrapa and Unicamp in 2012 and precursor of the GCCRC. She is a member of CTNBio (National Technical Commission for Biosafety) as an expert in plant sciences.
