Mini-curriculum
He holds a degree in Materials Engineering (2004) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering (2009) from the University of São Paulo (USP), and a post-doctorate at the Institute of Physics of São Carlos - USP (2010). He did a research internship (visiting scholar) during his doctorate at Harvard University (USA) and during his undergraduate studies at Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena (Germany). He has been a Researcher A at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA) since 2010, working at Embrapa Instrumentation. He was executive secretary of the Internal Technical Committee (CTI) from 2017 to 2021, and since 2022 he has been the Head of RD of this unit. He has been a CNPq Research Productivity fellow since 2012, and is currently a member of the Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Advisory Committee (CA-MM) of this institution. He is also an accredited professor and advisor in postgraduate programs at UFSCar and USP. He is the author/co-author of more than 200 international scientific articles (H index = 43 in Web of Science, H = 46 in Scopus, and H = 52 in Google Scholar), 33 book chapters, 7 patent applications, co-editor of 2 technical-scientific books, and has several hundred papers presented at conferences in Brazil and abroad. He has supervised/co-supervised more than 30 undergraduate students (IC or course completion monograph), 14 master's students, 17 doctoral students and supervised/co-supervised 17 postdoctoral researchers. He is currently Associate Editor of the journal ACS Applied Polymer Materials (ACS) and member of the editorial board of the journals Sensors and Actuators Reports (Elsevier) and Advanced Sensor and Energy Materials (Elsevier). He was an associate editor of the Journal of Cluster Science (Springer), IEEE Sensors Journal (IEEE) and Frontiers in Sensors - Section: Chemical Sensors (Frontiers) and also a member of the editorial board of the journal Scientific Reports (Nature). He has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Materials Science and Engineering and Nanotechnology, with a focus on polymers and composite nanomaterials for applications in agriculture, environment and biotechnology. He is interested in the following topics: polymeric and composite nanofibers, nanostructured films, sensors and biosensors, slow release systems of inputs, pollutant adsorption systems, active packaging, laser microfabrication and materials spectroscopy.
