Mini-curriculum

Environmental Engineer, PhD in Soils and Plant Nutrition from the Federal University of Viçosa. He is currently a researcher in Global Climate Change at Embrapa Hortaliças, where he conducts research into the mitigation and adaptation of vegetable production systems to climate change, sustainable development, rural sanitation, soil science and impact assessment of developed technologies. He has recently joined the Space Farming Brazil network, which aims to include the country in work on space agriculture. He has experience in developing technological assets. He also works on drafting, implementing and enforcing public policies related to the environment, sustainable development and the climate emergency. He was chairman of the Horticultural Portfolio Steering Committee and a member of Embrapa's Climate Change Portfolio Steering Committee. He is currently a member of the Resilient and Sustainable Agricultural Systems Portfolio and the company's Standing Committee on Spatial Agriculture. He was president of the Local Environmental Management Committee at Embrapa Hortaliças and is currently Executive Secretary of the Local Sustainability Committee at the decentralized unit. He is also a member of the Management Committee of Embrapa's ODS Network and Focal Point of the ODS Networks and the GEOINFO Network at Embrapa Hortaliças. He is also currently working on automating the generation of climate risk, vulnerability and scenario maps using Artificial Intelligence and Python scripts, using the QGIS software. Externally, he also participates in activities such as being a member of the Rural Sanitation Thematic Chamber and the Management Committee of the ABC+ Plan for the Federal District, as well as, from the beginning of 2024, acting as a Collaborating Professor in the Professional Master's Program in Water Engineering at the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI).
