Mini-curriculum

Ederson da Conceição Jesus has a undergraduate degree in Agronomy from the Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2002), a master degree in Agricultural Microbiology from the Federal University of Lavras (2004) and a PhD in Soil Sciences from the same university (2008). He developed part of his PhD project in the Center for Microbial Ecology, Michigan State University (USA). Ederson Jesus has experience in agronomy, soil science and microbiology, acting on the following subjects: microbial ecology, soil microbiology and biological nitrogen fixation. He worked as a research assistant for the Great lake Bioenergy Center branch at the Michigan State University (USA), focusing on the ecology and metagenomics of bacterial communities associated to the rhizosphere of biofuel crops. He worked for a year as an assistant professor of the Biotechnology course of the Federal University of Pará, Brazil. Currently, he develops research in soil microbiology and plant-microbe interactions at the Agrobiology center (Embrapa Agrobiologia) of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
