Mini-curriculum

Adhemar Zerlotini Neto graduated with a BSc in computer science in 2002 and earned a PhD in bioinformatics in 2009 from the "Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)". During his doctorate studies, he spent one year in the University of Georgia (UGA) studying genomic data integration using GUS - Genomics Unified Schema that resulted in the publication of SchistoDB. In his doctoral thesis, entitled 'Integration of Schistosoma mansoni genomic data towards the identification of candidate therapeutic targets', drugs were selected using genomic filtering and their schistosomicide activity was evaluated by in vivo tests. Zerlotini is co-author on the Schistosoma mansoni and Schistosoma haematobium genomes publication and currently holds a researcher position in the "Embrapa Informática Agropecuária CNPTIA-SP", mainly working with data integration and next generation sequence analysis.
