Preferred pronouns: He/His.Biology major from the University of Pernambuco (FFPP/UPE); Masters in Agricultural Entomology from the State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (FCAV/UNESP); and PhD in Entomology from the University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP) with an internship at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) as a visitin scholar.Postdoctoral experience from the (i) INSECTA group, Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), for 1 year; (ii) Departments of Entomology and of Molecular Cellular Biology at the University of California Davis (UCD), for 1.5 year; and (iii) Department of Horticulture at Oregon State University (OSU), for 2.5 years.Since Dec/2018, I have been working as a tenured Research Entomologist at Embrapa Algodão (Campina Grande, PB). My lab employs insect biology, ecology, behavior, and taxonomy to develop better sustainable solutions to manage arthropod pests in cotton and other row crops.I was elected (404 votes) to serve a 3-year term as Full Member of the Permanent Commission for the Prevention and Combat of Moral and Sexual Harassment (CPPCAM) at Embrapa, which I have served as Chai since Dec/2022.I am a member of the Entomological Society of Brazil (SEB) and Entomological Society of America (ESA). I am proudly a co-founder and the first coordinator of SEB Jovem, a working group that promotes diversity and elevates the protagonism of young Brazilian entomologists.I defend and promote science; scientific communication; professionalism; humanity; and diversity; including gender, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical/mental ability, etc.Perspectives and opinions are strictly my own and are not necessarily endorsed by my employing institution.IG and YouTube: @entomologista
