Platform
International technical cooperation project named "Technical Cooperation to Support the Platform for Agricultural Innovation in Mozambique. A trilateral initiative between Brazil, the United States, and Mozambique to strengthen and restructure the Mozambique Institute for Agricultural Research (IIAM)'s research and innovation system.
It was conducted with funding from the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and implemented by Embrapa and the African country through IIAM and Mozambique's Ministry of Agriculture (MINAGRI).
The Platform was initiated in May 2010 and ended in December 2014. The aim of Embrapa's collaboration was to contribute to IIAM in the areas of research, development, and technology transfer, so that Mozambique can reach self-sufficiency in food production. Its components included strengthening of strategic areas such as soil studies, modernization of the seed industry, communication for technology transfer, and the development of strategic planning for the institute.
