This project proposes the morphological and physico-chemical analysis of Brazil nut trees, in addition to the study of their diversity, intrapopulation spatial genetic structure, reproductive system, and patterns of seed and pollen dispersal in natural populations located in the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso and Acre. The goal is to assess the economic and ecological effectiveness of different models of forest restoration of degraded areas through the induction of secondary ecological succession, by natural regeneration, planting of seedlings, and the direct sowing of native and exotic tree species to compose the Legal Reserve.
