Research Lines
Prospecting of microorganisms (bacteria, microfungi and macrofungi) of commercial interest; development and optimization of biochemical processes to produce enzymes, biofuels and other value-added compounds; bioconversion of agroindustrial residues into products of interest; establishment of biotechnological processes using microalgae.
Structure and equipment
With an area of 180 m², the laboratory is subdivided into independent areas for the cultivation of fungi and yeast/bacteria. It has 4 fermentation systems, a high efficiency liquid chromatograph HPLC, protein purification and concentration systems, 4 B.O.D. chambers, 4 laminar flow hoods, 4 autoclaves, 3 lyophilizers, 4 thermocyclers, 1 BIOLOG, 2 automatic titrators, 7 centrifuges, 13 shakers, analytical scales, refrigerators and ultrafreezers.
