Researcher Alexandre Berndt makes the case for Brazil to host the next event.

In 2019, Brazil is going to host one of the main world events on greenhouse gases in agriculture and livestock. The announcement was made during the 6th Greenhouse Gas and Animal Conference Agricultura, which has just taken place Melbourne, Australia.

The GGAA happens every three years and it is the first time it is going to be in Latin America.

A presentation on the country's candidacy was made by the researcher Alexandre Berndt, from Embrapa Southeast Livestock (São Carlos, SP), who has participated in the Congress.

The conferece location will be in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. It is due to take place in May 2019, but the date has not been defined yet. Event participants include the main scientists and public policy makers in the areas of technology and innovation to measure, model and mitigate greenhouse gas emission in world agriculture.

According to Berndt, the importance of hosting the congress is the opportunity to show the research developed in Brazil related to GHG emissions in agriculture and livestock and the technological advances that contribute to sustainable cattle breeding to the international scientific community.
