Food education represents a factor of great importance to change malnutrition conditions, especially with regard to children, for a better quality of life based on the supply of accessible, low-cost foods with higher nutritional value. In view of such need, family farming represents a great potential to revert the malnutrition scenario, and the Food Biofortification project, led by Embrapa Food Agroindustry, is an alternative to offer technologies with nutritional added value aimed at family farming. The project has already rendered good results; however, under the scope of this project, it is important to establish a more effective process to increase access to the varieties and the consumption of biofortified products that Embrapa has already made available: rice, beans, cowpeas, cassava, maize and sweet potato, and to consolidate their impacts, especially in the economic and social dimensions.
