While the BRS Marataoã cultivar's growth habit is semi-prostate, it does not form a large volume of branches, but they are relatively consistent, which contributes to the cultivar having a certain resistance to lodging. Its pods are inserted above the foliage and the plant architecture is suitable for mechanical harvesting and desiccation. Its peas are greenish, but with low persistence, and thus they should be harvested immediately after drying. Its cycle is 70 to 75 days long. It is moderately resistant to soil diseases, brown blotch, aphid-borne mosaic, mildew and cowpea golden mosaic virus; and resistant to severe cowpea mosaic virus. The cultivar is recommended for rainfed cultivation in the states of Piauí, Paraíba and Bahia.
