The BRS Guariba cultivar has undetermined growth, relatively short branches, and resistance to lodging, a trait which makes it suitable for mechanical harvesting with the use of desiccation. The cultivar is recommended for rainfed cultivation in the Brazilian states of Piauí and Maranhão, where it showed an average yield of 1,475 kg/ha and 1,508 kg/ha, respectively. Its cycle is 65 to 70 days long. It is resistant to aphid-borne mosaic and golden mosaic, moderately resistant to mildew and brown blotch, and moderately tolerant to drought and high temperatures. Cultivar recommended for cultivation by cowpea growers in the Mid-North region (Piauí and Maranhão).
