This is high yield yellow table cassava cultivar that reaches up to 70 tons per hectare. As the plant architecture has little branching, it favors crop treatments. Due to its precocity, the cultivar should be harvested preferably eight to 12 months after planting. The cooking time of the roots is reduced, and the dough has a floury texture, characteristic flavor, and absence of fibers, all of which are considered positive culinary traits. The cultivar also presents moderate resistance to bacteriosis and over-stretching. The coloration of the root cortex is pink (cassava from the Cacau group of ethnovarieties). BRS 399 is recommended for the Federal District and surrounding areas, as well as for the Brazilian states of Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul, since it is more suitable to be planted in medium to high fertility soils. Its main application is human nutrition in various forms of presentation and use.
