High-yield peanut cultivar adapted to mechanized cultivation. BRS 423 OL has an average-length cycle (125 days) and yield of up to 5,200 kg/ha, with adequate management and sowing at the beginning of the crop season. It is a creeper, has indeterminate growth and can be sown in different types of soil. While it is moderately tolerant to ringspot, it is susceptible to Cercospora leaf spot, and thus requires efficient management to achieve its high yield potential. It meets the market demand from the national food industry and for exports of high quality peanuts. Due to their high oleic acid content, the grains retain their qualities for a longer time after their harvest, providing a longer shelf life. It is recommended for cultivation in the Brazilian states of São Paulo, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Bahia, Goiás, Tocantins, Rio Grande do Sul, and Pernambuco. In Brazil's Southeast and Midwest, the cultivar is aimed at sowing at the beginning of the rainy season.
