This project aims to develop an enzymatic route for biodiesel production, using ethanol and palm oil as raw materials. Currently, biodiesel is obtained by a chemical reaction between an oil and an alcohol, accelerated by a chemical catalyst - mainly sodium hydroxide. The use of this catalyst, however, causes a number of problems, such as high energy consumption, difficult glycerol recovery and the generation of a large volume of effluent. In addition, it causes saponification when acid oils, suc Status: Completed Start date: Tue Jan 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2013 |
Focusing on the development of the Canola production chain in the Federal District and surroundings, Embrapa Agroenergia closed a partnership with Cooperativa Agrícola do Rio Preto (Coarp) for the execution of the project "Sustainable production system for the cultivation and processing of Canola oil in the Cerrado with a focus on the bioeconomy (Procanola). In the first year of the project (2021), an average productivity of 2 thousand kg/ha was reached, above the Brazilian average, which is 1,4 ... The project worked on the identification of new genes, enzymes, microbial strains and the development of microorganisms with industrial application in biomass ethanol production. Status: Completed Start date: Tue Jan 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2019 |
The project aims to establish the best process conditions to maximize methane production for two substrates with high potential for biogas production, which are vegetable waste and palm oil production effluent (POME) and obtaining of synthesis gas from vegetable and POME biogas using as catalysts mixed oxides of Ni-Mg-Al enriched with praseodymium, continuing the work developed with simulated biogas. Another expected delivery is the characterization of the microbial community for correlation wit Status: In progress Start date: Tue Jun 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2021 |
A formulation that uses lignin obtained by precipitation of black liquor from the kraft pulping process of the pulp and paper industry as an inert material for adsorption and desorption of the semiochemical cis-Jasmone for use in integrated pest management (IPM), through controlled release.
ADVANTAGES Easy-to-use technology. Controlled release of semiochemicals for pest control. Adding value to the product. Product already validated in ...Status: In progress Start date: Tue Feb 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2022 |
The research analyzed the environmental performance of the canola agricultural production process used in the southern region of Brazil. The Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) considered both the canola grain production process (agricultural stage) and the processing of grains (industrial stage) to produce oil and bran, the main products in the chain.Unprecedented for rapeseed (Brassicanapus L. var. oleifera), the data collected accounted for all inputs of materials and energy for the production, use an Status: Completed Start date: Sat Jun 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2019 |
The research proposes the use of the liquid stream of the autohydrolysis, using in the process of biodigestion, for the generation of biogas and destination of the solid stream of the organosolv process, rich in cellulose, for the process of simultaneous saccharification and fermentation, aiming at obtaining ethanol from second generation. The project also seeks to qualify the lignin obtained in the autohydrolysis and organosolv processes, aiming, in the future, to direct it to other application Status: Completed Start date: Sat Feb 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2020 |
This is a broad research project on Barbados nuts, a crop with potential to become raw material for the production of biodiesel and aviation biokerosene. In spite of its high oil production, the plant has not been totally domesticated yet, that is, there are not different recommended cultivars or production systems for each region of the country yet. In this project, which is partially funded by Finep and CNPq, there are 22 participating research institutions in all Brazilian regions, 16 of whic Status: Completed Start date: Sun Aug 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2010 |
The process of producing biogas, a mixture of gases obtained by the anaerobic digestion of organic material, occurs naturally in ecosystems such as landfills and swamps. Biogas can also be obtained in systems called biodigesters, with parameters monitored and adjusted to increase productivity. The project evaluated three properties of small producers, members of an agricultural cooperative, with the objective of dimensioning systems for the production of biogas to replace cooking gas and firewoo Status: In progress Start date: Sat May 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2021 |
