Biological Nitrogen Fixation (BNF) is one of the most important natural processes in the planet. It is either conducted by bacteria in the soil or added by inoculants, which associate with plant roots to capture and transform nitrogen from the air. This International Cooperation Project – under the aegis of the Africa-Brazil Marketplace – developed in Ghana in partnership with Embrapa Mid-North, proposed the formulation of two products from the cashew pseudofruit: cashew powder (dehydrated through spray drying) to be reconstituted as fruit juice and breakfast cereal with enriched dehydrated cashew.
