Among the essential nutrients, nitrogen (N) is the one with the greatest potential for enhancing forage production. The efficiency of nitrogen uptake is related to the energy supply provided by the photosynthesis. However, recent practices of intensive pasture management have recommended the use of lower post-grazing residues, thus reducing the leaf area of the canopy. The objective of this project was to evaluate the effect of the timing of nitrogen fertilization in association with different d Status: Completed Start date: Fri Aug 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2014 |
The goal of the project is to learn the capacity of the current production systems and of alternative technologies focused on carbon accumulation and sequestration in the soil and on reducing (direct or indirect) greenhouse gas - GHG - emissions. Such knowledge is essential for the investigation and foresight of future scenarios and for the planning of public policy to encourage the adoption of global warming mitigation practices. This project comprises the investigation and analysis of grain pr Status: Completed Start date: Sat Sep 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2012 |
Vaccination of animals as a method of controlling infectious diseases has been practiced for more than a century with remarkable success. The demand for more effective vaccines tends to grow as an alternative to the use of medicines and as a way to increase animal productivity, contribute to food safety and promote animal and human health. In addition, by minimizing the need for pharmacological interventions, the reduction of drug residues in the environment and in food is favored. As the use of Status: Completed Start date: Wed Feb 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2017 |
The safe use of nanomaterials is a set of actions to prevent, minimize or eliminate risks to human, animal or environmental health, during the course of research, production, technological development, providing services and trade of nanomaterials. Among global efforts to standardize safety tests, the European consortium NanoReg stands out in addressing international issues regarding regulation in nanotechnology. Recently, the Interministerial Committee for Nanotechnology (CIN) approved the acce Status: Completed Start date: Tue Dec 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2015 |
The project QUALIANI - Implementation and Monitoring of Quality Systems in the collections of animal genetic resources aims to evaluate the current condition of collections of breeds of domestic animals of zootechnical interest maintained by Embrapa in order to adpat them to International quality standards. The Network on Nanotechnology applied to Agribusiness was implemented in 2006 and has already completed two cycles as a Network Project. The new cycle intends to advance in the existing knowledge and actions, contributing to the understanding of the processes of upscaling the production of nanoproducts, thus meeting the need to evaluate, quantify and estimate the ability to produce nanomaterials that have been successfully produced in lab activities, whose processes need to be adequately planned Status: Completed Start date: Tue Dec 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2015 |
Embrapa Instrumentation has had the Nanotechnology Laboratory for Agribusiness since 2009, the very first one in the national and international community. LNNA was created with the support of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications, through the Financier of Studies and Projects (FINEP), in order to boost research in the agricultural sector, ensure its competitiveness, and also enable the development of work between Embrapa facilities and other public research instituti Status: Completed Start date: Sun Dec 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2013 |
This International Cooperation Project – under the aegis of the Africa-Brazil Marketplace – developed in Ghana in partnership with Embrapa Mid-North, proposed the formulation of two products from the cashew pseudofruit: cashew powder (dehydrated through spray drying) to be reconstituted as fruit juice and breakfast cereal with enriched dehydrated cashew. The results indicated that the enriched cashew cereal had good acceptance among Ghanaian consumers. There were tests to obtain spray dried powd Status: Completed Start date: Fri Aug 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2014 |
