This is a Co-financed Project (Edictal CAPES/Embrapa n° 15/2014), conducted with the partnership between the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel) - Capão do Leão Campus, the leader institution, and Embrapa Trigo, the partner. Its main objective is the training of human resources (master, doctorate, and postdoctorate) to act on the cereal science and technological area, through the wheat technological quality evaluation as for structural, functional and technological characteristics, promoting k ... Protein-protein interactions virtually regulate all processes inside cells, e.g. signal transduction, metabolic regulation, gene regulation, and immunological responses which occur in a specific way. Several experimental methods are capable of detecting interactions between proteins, which can range from cellular "resolution" to experiments which expose atom level interactions. However, the performance of these combined experiments which generate complete information regarding the network of pro ... Status: Completed Start date: Sat Aug 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2009 |
Enzymes have their function essentially determined by specific residue known as catalytic residue. Most methods to predict enzyme catalytic residue uses at least one criterion of primary sequence conservation. Considering that the function is a product of the structure, this project aims to identify among the structural descriptors available in the Sting software database those of higher relevance in the discrimination of catalytic residue. Thus, the project will propose a new enzyme classificat Status: Completed Start date: Sun Aug 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2010 |

In recent years, distance learning via the internet has become an important means of professional qualification, especially in Brazil, a country of continental dimensions. Whereas milk production is scattered throughout the national territory, distance learning offers the opportunity to bring information to professionals across the country. To this end, this project included the design, offering and accomplishment of the first distance learning courses of Embrapa Dairy Cattle, namely: "Sampling, ... Safety is among consumers’ main concerns when it comes to food quality. One of the challenges faced in beef production in Brazil is combining production intensification with sustainability. Several aspects that used to be less valued earlier, such as quality, safety, food hygiene and product reliability, have become indispensable. In this context, the demand for traceability of the information regarding food is an important condition when the aim is conquering the customer's loyalty and trust ...Status: Completed Start date: Fri Apr 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2011 |
One of analytical techniques that enables precise chemical analyzes with speed, low cost and little sample manipulation is near-infrared spectroscopy - NIRS. The interest in NIR spectroscopy has grown remarkably and this technique has been recognized as a powerful tool for quantitative and qualitative analysis of chemical and physical parameters. Besides these features, the methodologies based on NIR spectroscopy have the following inherent properties: 1) allows simultaneous analysis of multi ...Status: Completed Start date: Fri Apr 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2011 |

Olives and olive oil are products frequently found in Brazilian tables. As a result of the small number of planted areas and insignificant production in Brazil, importing has been an alternative to supply internal demand. In 2007, the country imported US$170 millions in olive oil and US$250 millions in olives, according to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry and International Commerce. Researches carried out by Epamig, in Maria da Fé - MG, demonstrated the possibility of rational exp ... Status: Completed Start date: Thu Apr 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2010 |
Low productivity of pastures in Brazil is the main cause of poor profitability and competitiveness of animal production systems in relation to other agricultural systems. The objective of the project was to generate technologies in intensive system of livestock grazing using Tanzania grass ( Panicum maximum), Marandu palisadegrass ( Brachiaria brizantha) and Star grass ( Cynodon nlemfuensis) to improve forage production and quality and milk production. To this end, evaluatio ... Status: Completed Start date: Sat Oct 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2011 |
